Get Wild

These days, it’s hard for me to deny a good animal print. Though there was a time when I fought it and refused to wear it at all. This was probably the result of seeing one too many poorly executed or gaudy leopard prints. But my love for the classic print has been revived, thanks to some really great pieces.

My rediscovery of animal print can be traced back to a particular abstract leopard print, that could almost pass as wonky polka dots. I still love this discreet version of the print, and I was able to track down a handbag from Madewell that made all of my leather, abstract animal print and calf hair dreams come true. It’s their Eaton bag, and this was by far the best version of the bag that I’ve come across. Sadly, the bag is sold out, but every once in a while I see an Ebay posting for the bag.

This year, it’s those super graphic animal prints that really get me (thanks, Philip Lim.) I found this super cute swing dress from Asos, and decided to pair it with one of my black leather vests. It’s the end of summer, so I figured it was time to work that black leather back into my wardrobe. I finished the look off with a pair of black clog sandals, little black bag and a woven hat.
The exact items that I’m wearing are no longer available, but I found some awesome alternatives (and honestly, I like them better.)
