It seems that sometime in the last 5 years or so, athletic clothing companies really upped their game. Not only have the clothing, shoes and accessories gotten cuter and more fashion forward, but there are some amazing new tech fabrics being used. The products not only look and fit better but they also work better. Fashion AND function? What a dream!
There has also been a real push for mixing sportswear into everyday outfits, and I’ve gotta tell you, I’m all about it. Some days (most days), I just feel like throwing on a pair of sweatpants, a loose t-shirt and sneakers. I’m just thankful that there are some fashionable options, and I’m not stuck wearing a matching grey sweatsuit and clunky sneakers.
Today’s look:
- I’m wearing my all-time favorite pants that I picked up from Lululemon. They’re the Studio to Street II Crops, and they are unbelievably comfortable and flattering. Just like anything else at Lulu, the price tag is pretty steep. However, if you’re looking for something that will last, and that fits well, then these are worth the investment. I won’t be working out in these, but I’ll be wearing them a lot to work and on the weekends.
- My top is just a basic tank from Zara that I’ve had for years. It might actually be time to retire it, since there’s quite a few pulls in the fabric, but I’ve held off since it fits well. Maybe I’ll pick up a few colors in this basic tank.
- My sneakers are Nike Flyknits, and I couldn’t be happier with these. They’ve been perfect for summer, since there’s plenty of air flow. They also move with (and form to) the foot, making them a great choice for all-day wear. These grey ones are cool, but there’s so many other colors to choose from!
- My dog, Kit. He’s my greatest accessory, but he clearly wanted nothing to do with getting his photo taken. He just wanted to enjoy his walk. Unfortunately, he’s not available online, but I can tell you that we rescued him from Brooklyn Badass Animal Rescue. I’m so lucky to have found him. 🙂
