Happy & Chic in 2016

No matter how many times I try, I just can’t pull off sequins- even on New Years Eve. My plans this year for ‘the eve’ also didn’t warrant anything too flashy, so I stuck with one of my trusty go-to outfits: dark skinny jeans, a drapey tank, edgy jacket and heeled booties. It’s the kind of outfit that looks flattering, no matter what.

For the last 3 or 4 years, I’ve spent New Years Eve in the city with the squad. It’s always a fun time, but it ends up being a very expensive outing. However, this year I’m a New Haven resident and decided to stay local. The boyfriend and I ate at a new French-Vietnamese fusion restaurant, and it was awesome. We stuffed our faces, had delicious cocktails, and then spent the rest of the night cozied on the couch, watching Netflix. It was exactly how I wanted to ring in 2016.
