Maxi Monday

As simple as they seem, I’m actually fairly picky about the fit of a maxi skirt. I don’t particularly like long skirts made out of a jersey fabric, because I find them a bit too heavy, or ill-fitting. I also don’t like anything too tight around my waist, because by the end of the day it’ll make me feel really bloated (I wouldn’t be surprised if I was completely alone in this, but it’s a very real struggle for me!)

When I came across this leopard print maxi, I knew it was a must-have! First, I’m a sucker for a graphic leopard print. Second, the fabric and the structure of this skirt are amazing. It’s a pretty simple, lightweight viscose & silk blend, but it’s got this perfectly crinkled look to it, and it’s super comfortable to wear all day. The elastic waist is even a winner in my book! This adorable skirt came from the Australian clothing company Spell Designs. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like this style is available anymore, but I checked their maxi selection and there are some really awesome ones up there, that appear to be in the same fabric.
I’m obsessed with the print on this one . I might also be in need of this wrap skirt that’s on sale.

The only problem is that Spell clothing is definitely not cheap, but oh my, the prints and the designs are amazing. It’s this perfect combo of bohemian edginess.

I wore this skirt in honor of Maxi Monday, which I actually just made up this morning. I wanted to keep it simple, but add a fun print to my normally solid weekday outfits.
