End of Summer Sales

There’s a point toward the end of summer when retailers flow more and more fall merchandise into their new arrivals. If you’re anything like me, seeing these beautiful autumnal layering pieces gets you pretty excited about fall fashion, making it hard to focus on the summer stuff that’s now on sale. Since I have this little obsession with scoring a good deal, you know I always circle back to that sale rack/section. The problem is that now that we’re nearing the end of the season, I find it progressively harder to invest in summery pieces (especially things in white and lighter colors.) Sometimes you can get lucky and find some nice transitional pieces on sale, but it often takes some hunting.

An end of summer sale that I rarely miss is the “only sale of the season” at LF stores. Now, if you shop here, or if you know anything about LF, you’ll know that the way this retailer merchandises their clothing is by haphazardly throwing product around the store. That’s only a slight exaggeration. Let me tell you that when it’s sale time at LF, the store is an actual nightmare to shop. The weirdest part is that I secretly love it. I usually go with my shopping buddy, Courtney, because she’s as serious about hunting around the store as I am. We’ll be hitting up the sale this week, most likely, so I may just dedicate a post to the whole experience.

What I’m wearing:

>>LF Black Lacy Cold Shoulder Top: I picked this up when I briefly stopped in at the beginning of the sale. Since they lower the price points each week, I will usually wait it out until the end of the sale for the best deals. I obviously have no self control and popped in ” just to see what they have this season,” and left with a new top. It’s black, so it’s a nice summer into fall piece, and it pairs nicely with some high waisted skinny jeans. Unfortunately, you can’t get this online, but I found this really cute alternative from Asos!

>>Citizens of Humanity Rocket High Rise Skinny Jeans: These are my all-time favorite jeans. Everyone should purchase a pair of these because they are super soft, comfy and flattering. I have these in 3 different washes. The price tag is high, but I’m a firm believer in investing in quality denim.

>>Sam Edelman Moto Short Boots: Another pair of short boots from Sam Edelman that are a total winner. They’re essentially the Petty boot, but with a harness strap that gives it a moto look. I love them. I couldn’t find these online, however, so I’m linking a different pair that have the same look!

>>Vintage Western Belt: If you utilize Ebay for anything, it should be for vintage finds. Type in “vintage western belt” and you will be scrolling through tons of very well priced, unique belts. Best $15 you’ll spend this week.

>>Lucky Brand Layered Silver and Turq Necklace: Has anyone else taken note of how strong Lucky’s jewelry game is? They seriously have the best necklaces. Check out their site to see more. I really like this one as an alternative to the one I’m wearing. The best part is that the necklace can be worn clipped together or separated into 3 individual necklaces!
